We would like to revise the following:

School times - Students are expected to be inside their classroom when they hear the 8:45am bell. This ensures that they are ready for learning to begin promptly at 9:00am. School finishes at 3:00pm and it is important that your child knows how they are getting home or where they are to be collected.  Students should not be at school before 8:00am. The school gates are locked until 8:00am.  Students are expected to play in the Junior and Central covered areas where there is supervision from 8am until the 8:45am.
Absences - If your child is away please ensure the school is aware of the reason for their absence. This can be done by replying to the automated text message, sending a note or calling the absence line on 4040 8760 or emailing the attendance officer Remember every day counts!
Homework - Homework will begin in Week 1. It will be handed out on Tuesday and should be returned on Friday.  Homework will cease in Week 8.
Resources - Please ensure your child has the necessary stationery and supplies to start each school day and that you have paid for all resources. These resources are used every day.

This term we will be focussing on the following units:
English: Reading and writing procedures (mainly recipes).
Maths:   Numbers to 100 and number concepts, adding & subtracting using counting strategies, fractions, investigating number facts and making inferences from collected data.
Science:  Learning about light and sound. Students will manipulate materials to observe how light and sound are produced, and how changes can be made to light and sound effects. They will examine how light and sound are useful in everyday life and respond to questions.  We will also be making our own musical instrument at school.  Could you please help us out by providing cereal boxes (to make a guitar), empty tissue boxes (guitar), empty large tin (eg ovalteen, milo) for drums.  Cardboard tubes (cling wrap etc) to make shakers.  Please discuss what your child will make and provide the necessary resources.

Teacher contact - Finally, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher if you have any concerns/questions. This can be done by making an appointment, calling the school and leaving a message, or sending an email. Our emails are
