School uniform

Full Isabella State School uniform is required every day. This also includes closed in shoes (no thongs) and a broad brim hat.

School times

Students should not be arriving before 8am. Students arriving after 8am are to wait in the Junior undercovered area where there is supervision until the 8:45am school bell. Students are expected to be at their classroom when they hear the 8:45am bell. This ensures that they are ready for learning to begin promptly at 9:00am. School finishes at 3:00pm and it is important that your child knows how they are getting home or where they are to be collected.

Absences

If your child is away please ensure the school is aware of the reason for their absence. This can be done by replying to the automated text message, sending a note or calling the absence line on 4040 8760. Verbal explanations by students are not acceptable and will be marked as unexplained. Remember every day counts!

Lunch

Please ensure your child has a labelled healthy lunch and a drink bottle filled with water only every day. We have limited fridge space so it would be appreciated if your child brought their lunch in a small rectangular lunchbox. Large cooler bags are not required. If your child has a tuckshop order it needs to be given to the tuckshop before school or put in the tuckshop basket in the classroom at the start of the day. All food scraps will be collected in the food scrap bin, however any other rubbish your child has including plastic wrapping and packets will be brought home in their lunch box.
As the weather heats up it is important that your child brings a water bottle filled with water only that they can keep on their desk each day. Your child also requires a sun-safe hat and appropriate footwear.

Homework

Homework will begin in Week 2. Please assist your children in remembering to return their homework regularly. Thank you for your continued support of our homework program.

Resources

Please check with your child that they have all the stationery items they require this term.  If you are unsure please check with the classroom teacher.

Teacher contact

Finally, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher if you have any concerns/questions. This can be done by making an appointment, calling the school and leaving a message, or sending an email.

There will be times when the teacher will be listening to reading or testing children and we would like you understand this is important and to minimise interruptions.
